The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends a daily sugar intake of 36 grams for men and 25 grams for women. Following these guidelines can be difficult, because sugar is in tons of foods, and added sugar is so easy, it shows up in places you wouldn’t suspect.

By 2020, companies with revenues over $10 million will be required by law to list all added sugar in grams. And in 2021, low-income companies will be required to comply.
