Once you know how to understand angle notation, you’re ready to learn how to use a protractor to find angle measures.
First, make sure you have correctly defined the angle in question. ∠MLN is the angle formed by points M, L, and N with the vertex at point L. Notice that ∠MLN is already colored in the diagram below. If you find coloring angles useful, you can use a marker or marker whenever you use a protractor to measure angles on paper.
The next step is to align the center marker of the protractor with the vertex of the corner (point L in this example) as follows:
