To learn the 6 times table, students must memorize the 2 and 3 times table because 6 is a multiple of both. Also, when an even number is multiplied by 6, the last digit is the same as the even number. For example, 6 × 2 = 12, 6 × 4 = 24, etc. Another way to learn the 6 times table is through repeated addition. ### Basic Rules For Positive And Negative Numbers

First, a quick refresher on exactly what we’re talking about. Multiplication – we use it when we need to add groups of objects. So, if there are three groups of apples and there are four apples in each, we multiply 3 x 4 and get 12. It’s faster and easier than counting each apple!

A diagram like the one above is called a times table or times table. This is a set of numbers that will help you learn to multiply quickly, using a table or possibly in your head. It’s memory, not magic.

The table is very easy to use. You can select any number above, from 0 to 12, and any number to the left, as well as any number from 0 to 12. Drag your finger down from the top number and across to the left number. The answer is where the two meet.

Consider the example above. You want to multiply 7 x 6. So you find the 7 in the top row and the 6 on the left. Follow the yellow arrow down from 7 and across from 6. See you at 42!

If you need to memorize the schedule for school, take it in one line. Trying to remember a big square full of numbers is suddenly too much for most of us. Select a row or column and explore them all yourself. Let’s say you select 2 rows. Move your finger along the twos and say to yourself (if it helps): “2 x 0 = 0. 2 x 1 = 2. 2 x 2 = 4. 2 x 3 = 6.” And so on, until the end of the line: “2 x 12 = 24.”
